Doggy daycare
Years of Planning
After years of planning and searching for the right place, The Dogfather opened its first Doggy Day Care centre in June 2019. Set in five acres of private, secludedfarmland in Pyrford, Surrey – just 30 minutes from Wimbledon and Wandsworth – it’s a unique setting where dogs can socialise with their four-legged friends and explore the great outdoors. While their pets are having fun, owners can rest assured they’re being well looked after in a safe, loving and secure environment. The boutique-style property is a unique home-from-home experience for your pet and brings a brand-new concept to the doggy day-care market. Dogs get to enjoy more space and freedom to safely run around and play in a natural countryside environment in a beautiful stable block with indoor facilities, an outdoor courtyard area and two large fields.
Stable Block
Within this huge 197m2 indoor space are two large open-plan main rooms, where dogs can run freely, play and rest to their heart’s content. The indoor area provides a coolescape on hot days and shelter from the wind or rain during the winter. The stable block also has heaters and fans and a large variety of dog beds for four-legged guests of different shapes and sizes. There’s even a Chill Out Zone with ultra-soft and comfy Pouf Daddy (doggy) bean bags and a ball pit for extra fun! We have large water troughs and dog bowls throughout to keep guests hydrated. Other rooms are available if dogs need to be fed, while the doors are open to the other stables if any of the pooches fancy some quiet time on their own.
The Courtyard
The Courtyard is an outdoor space with splash pool for added extra fun. We’ve used over 22 tons of large pebbles to ensure the courtyard is free-draining and hygienic.
Top Field
The larger of the two fields has a copse of willow trees at the bottom end, providing plenty of shade and shelter. We’ve let some of the undergrowth grow wild, giving perfect cover for games and chase, while adding to the natural feeling of the countryside. We’ve never met a dog yet that doesn’t like splashing around in water, which is why we’ve added a jungle pool in the top field.
Bottom Field
The bottom field has lush grassland and a wooded area with a large oak tree providing plenty of shade and shelter. The dogs love it here. We have let some areas around the wood grow wild, which looks great. Both fields have a supply of fresh running water and drinking troughs. Throughout the summer, we ensure the grass is cut regularly to significantly reduce the chance of grass seeds getting in ears, noses and paws. The dogs spend most of the day outdoors in the summer playing chase, relaxing under the trees and having fun with their friends. They can come into the stable block at any time for more playtime and rest. All the dog areas are safe and secure. The fields are surrounded by 1.8m deer fencing dug 2ft into the ground. The two fields are also divided by fencing.
Third Field
This field, which is being kept natural to add to the peace and tranquility of the area, will be used for one-to-one dog and puppy training.
