Hello Party People, Welcome to the FOREPLAY Website
Who is The Dogfather and what does he do?
My name is Dom Makin and I run a premier dog walking service in the borough of Wandsworth.
I worked in the media industry for 17 years before fulfilling a lifelong dream to work with dogs.
You might have seen me walking with my dogs on Wandsworth Common or Tooting Bec Common.
Saying that I do 90% of my walks on Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common as I find the open spaces and
varying terrain much more stimulating for the dogs and myself. The dogs can also jump straight out of my car and onto the grass without a main road in sight. All walks are a minimum of 1 hour...sometimes longer and I cover between 3 to 4 miles, the dogs must be doing 15 at least.
I walk the dogs across the open ground, over the bracken and heather, into the woods, through the long grass, along the river(the dogs in the river) and to various ponds for some swimming and games.
The dogs love to be part of the pack and exercise a lot more when they are together as they spend a lot of time chasing each other and skirmishing. All the dogs get on very well and It is very special to see them pack together and have so much fun.
I do a morning and a lunchtime walk everyday, picking up a variety of amazing dogs from my clients houses. I walk some dogs everyday, some a few times a week, some once a week and others on an ad hoc basis. I also take last minute bookings as work and family life can sometimes throw up unexpected incidents (sick children, work commitments etc).
I like to give all my clients feedback so will often leave messages on returning the dogs, or send texts and photos of dogs live from the
walk.
I also look after dogs for the day (day care) and board dogs at my home as well. I love having dogs to stay and if over a weekend will often take them down to my family home in Wiltshire. My father is a horse trainer so it's dog heaven....lots of woods, water meadows and the Marlborough Downs.
The Dogfather can also arrange/recommend help for owners of puppies/young dogs under 8 months old. Juvenile dogs need one to one care and attention before they are old enough to graduate to the pack walks. Please call to discuss your needs and I would be more than happy give advice and put you in touch with my 'helping hand' Paul. I also recommend puppy training and can advise on local classes. I also have part time help from a good friend of mine Luke who has worked with me on and off for the last
two years and he knows all the dogs and the routine. This means that someone we will always be available to provide you with our premium dog walking service throughout the whole year.
